Visit The Solent

The Solent is a stunning area of coastline filled with saltmarshes, mudflats and sandy beaches.  Stretching from Colwell to Whitecliff Bay on the Isle of Wight and Lymington in Hampshire to West Wittering in West Sussex, the stretch of 254 kilometres is home to a wide variety of plants and animals that help to make it special. There are many ways to experience the uniqueness of the region and soak up all it has to offer.

Local authorities and national organisations have produced resources dedicated to active travel which help people to stay fit, experience more and capture the Solent in the best way possible.

Many of these beautiful areas are also used by feeding, resting and nesting birds, alongside other wildlife and insects.

Whilst enjoying these scenic routes it is very important that you remain on the marked trails and take extra care not to disturb our precious wildlife.
