1st Jul 2017 - New job vacancies at Bird Aware Solent

We are currently recruiting two winter seasonal rangers to help us spread the Bird Aware message across the Solent Coast.

Do you like the great outdoors even at its worst, enjoy talking to people, and are knowledgeable about birdlife? Could you have what it takes to be a Bird Aware ranger?

Working on the Solent coast during the winter months can be physically demanding as we are subject to wind, rain, and cold temperatures. To battle the elements on a daily basis you need to be passionate about our local wildlife and have a strong desire to share this passion with other people. The best days as a Bird Aware Ranger are when you meet a visitor to the coast and you spark a little inspiration in them about the wonder of our coastal birds.

The benefits don't just stop at job satisfaction though! We engage with visitors and communities along our coast and get to work closely with lots of organisations like the RSPB, the Wildlife Trust, the New Forest National Park Authority and Chichester Harbour Conservancy. We benefit from shared knowledge across many organisations and have a strong team work ethos. This is an excellent opportunity to join a new organisation and help shape our future. If you think you have what it takes to inspire people to take action and help reduce bird disturbance, then we can't wait to hear from you. To apply and for more information please visit the  New Job website .

The posts run from 1st September 2017 - 31st March 2018.

Closing date for applications is 9th July 2017.
