November 2020 - Giving birds social media wings

A local organisation called Bird Aware Solent has been presented with a 'Highly Commended' accolade for their social media activity.

The international awards ceremony called the 'Drum Social Media Awards', considered content from the Solent-based Partnership as winning work for their innovation, effectiveness and tangible results throughout four social media channels.

Presented virtually in November, the Partnership of local authorities and nature conservation groups were up against large marketing agencies creating content for household names like NHS England, the U.S. Army and Visit Wales.  The small in-house team of Bird Aware is thrilled to be awarded for their high quality and engaging work.

The Partnership for South Hampshire (PfSH) is the body that oversees Bird Aware, and their Chairman, Councillor Seán Woodward, remarks, 'The variety of messages and impressive imagery that this team produces is of the highest quality.  If you follow their feeds you will learn so much about birds, wildlife and the Solent area.  Congratulations to very worthy winners of this commendation'.
